| Deepika Lal- Technician I have had the pleasure to work with Dr. Wang since March 2006. I was born in India, where I finished my Masters degree in Biotechnology at Madurai Kamaraj University. My whole world revolves around my naughty little boy, and my husband. My research area focuses on development of anti-angiogenic therapy for leukemia by targeting different angiogenic factors and looking for their effect on anti-tumor activity. Most of my work involves in-vivo mouse studies, and trying to get my lazy lab partner Joe to do some research. | |
| Joseph Marinaro- Technician I received my Bachelor’s degree in biology from Daemen College in 2004. Following graduation I started an internship here at Roswell Park which led to my first position here at the hospital in a molecular bio lab. I joined the Wang Lab in March of 2007 and have been putting my molecular experience to use since then. Some current projects I’m involved in are: gene expression levels of VEGFR1 and how it correlates to granulocyte sarcoma (the spread of AML outside the bone marrow to secondary sites). VEGFR2, and R3 levels and how they correlate to VEGF-C levels, and HIF1α role as a transcription factor for VEGF-A. | |

| Kellie Demock- Graduate Student I am a second year master’s student researching the role of Hif-1α in patients with acute myeloid leukemia. I’m originally from Flushing, Michigan and received my undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University in Biomedical Sciences. After completing her masters in the spring of 2008, she plans on attending medical school. |
