Bisons Fans to Celebrate The Ride For Roswell and National Cancer Survivors Day
14-year cancer survivor will throw out first pitch at Sunday’s game

WHAT: The Buffalo Bisons and their fans will celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day and The Ride For Roswell during the Herd’s game against the Indianapolis Indians. Bill McLaughlin, a late-stage prostate cancer patient who has successfully fought his disease for 14 years thanks to the care he received at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, will throw out the first pitch at the game.

DETAILS: Bill McLaughlin has been a long-time cyclist with The Ride For Roswell, and his goal this year is to become a top fundraiser and ride in the Extra Mile Club Peloton with Dr. Donald Trump, his physician and the president and CEO of Roswell Park. Fans at the game also will have the chance to learn more about The Ride and register for the event.
The Ride For Roswell 2009, presented by Wegmans, will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2009, starting and ending at Baird Point, on the University at Buffalo’s North Campus in Amherst. Riders can choose from eight different routes, including a new three-mile Family Fun Ride.
