On June 16, 2008, 18 golfers turned out to push their golf skills to the limit—shooting at least 100 holes in one day—in support of Carly's Club and Roswell Park Cancer Institute at the Westwood Country Club in Williamsville. The fourth annual event, founded by Stuart Scheff as a solo challenge, raised more than $75,000 for pediatric cancer cures and research.
Steve LoVullo was this year's top fundraiser with almost $17,000, followed closely by Roswell Park President and CEO Donald Trump, MD. Participant Keith Schulefand broke records by shooting an astounding 200 holes of golf over the course of the day. But it wasn't just experienced golfers on the course: 12-year-old Carly's Club member Sean McLean played 101 holes, and 13-year-old Taylor Speth played a hole with every team on the course.
Generous event sponsorship for Chip-In was provided by Buffalo Hospital Supply; Midcity Office Furniture; Spearhead Transportation Services, Inc.; Gooding Co., Inc.; and Lipsitz Green Scime Cambria, LLP.
