Olympian will Join Nearly 300 Swimmers Helping Kids and Cancer Research at Carly’s Crossing 2009
Four-time silver medalist Kara Lynn Joyce will join swimmers as they raise funds for pediatric cancer research and patient care at Roswell Park

WHAT: The seventh annual Carly’s Crossing, presented by Creditors Interchange, will bring nearly 300 swimmers and hundreds of volunteers together to raise funds for Carly’s Club at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Two-time Olympic swimmer Kara Lynn Joyce will be in attendance and will swim the 600-yard course with the event’s top fundraisers. DETAILS: Carly’s Crossing is a fun, family-oriented event benefiting pediatric cancer research and patient care programs at Roswell Park. The event features options of one-mile and 600-yard non-competitive courses, as well as a one-mile timed course. Joyce, a four-time silver medalist in the 2004 and 2008 Olympics, will swim the 600-yard course and visit with swimmers and supporters on land to sign autographs. The event is open to competitive and recreational swimmers of all ages who raised a minimum of $100 in pledges.

8:30 am: One-mile non-competitive swim begins
10 am: Kara Lynn Joyce arrives
12 pm: 600-yard non-competitive swim begins
