17th Annual feast given by Buffalo's Frank's Sunny Italy Italian Restaurant selects Carly's Club at Roswell Park Cancer Institute as its 2008 beneficiary
(BUFFALO, NY) After raising nearly $6,000 for Carly's Club at last year's event, Frank's Sunny Italy (corner of Delaware and Tacoma Avenues in the City of Buffalo) has once again invited the entire community to come out to its St. Joseph's Day Table fundraiser on Wednesday, March 19, from 1 p.m. – 11 p.m. to help raise needed funds for pediatric cancer research and psychosocial support programs through Carly's Club at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Seven courses of meatless, traditional foods (including pasta, pastries, vegetables, fruit and more) will be provided to all those who attend this celebration to be held in honor of kids and teenagers facing cancer and their families. Donations of all amounts will be accepted in return for an all-you-can-eat, buffet-style banquet.
"Every dollar we collect at our St. Joseph's Day Table event will go to Carly's Club at Roswell Park," said Frank Sclafani, owner of Frank's Sunny Italy. "We'll be closing the business for the day and calling upon a fantastic team of volunteers to hold this event. Even if we are able to make one child feel better, just for one day, all of our hard work will be worthwhile."
The St. Joseph's Day Table is a long-standing tradition and is especially popular within the City of Buffalo because of its strong Italian heritage. Sclafani said that typically his Table attracts over 1,000 guests each year, and that many of these guests are families coming to share the meal together.
Frank's Sunny Italy Family Restaurant is located at 2491 Delaware Ave. (corner of Delaware and Tacoma Avenues) in the City of Buffalo.
