Weekend of Events Raises More Than $200,000 for Roswell Park
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 18, 2008
On Friday, August 15, and Saturday, August 16, 2008, community supporters turned out in droves to support two very different events with one common goal: to raise funds for and awareness of pediatric cancer research and patient care at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
On Friday, August 15, the Statler Towers were transformed into a Miami hot spot for Summer Heat, a South Beach-themed event to benefit Carly’s Club at Roswell Park. Thanks to the generosity of more than 500 attendees and sponsors, Summer Heat raised more than $150,000. The event was sponsored by Georgetown Capital and presented by The Aquamarine Group. Additional sponsors include Time Warner Cable, Lounge 22, Drape Kings and Regent Broadcasting (WBLK, WYRK, WJYE, JACK-FM).
The sixth annual Carly’s Crossing was held on Saturday, August 16, at Gallagher Beach on Lake Erie. More than 300 participants swam in timed and non-competitive courses, raising more than $85,000. Carly’s Crossing was sponsored by Creditors Interchange.
