“Summer Heat” Event Offers South Beach Flair to Benefit Carly’s Club
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 15, 2008
Roswell Park Cancer Institute is proud to announce a new event benefiting Carly’s Club with all the excitement and party atmosphere of Miami’s South Beach! "Summer Heat" will be a night to remember, and takes place on Friday, August 15, 2008 at the Statler Towers. All proceeds will benefit pediatric cancer research and support programs for children with cancer and their families from across Western New York.
The event is sponsored by Georgetown Capital and is presented by The Aquamarine Group. Additional sponsors include Time Warner Cable, Lounge 22, Drape Kings and Regent Broadcasting (WYRK, WJYE, JACK-FM).
The Aquamarine Group was formed by a group of local women who were inspired by Carly Collard-Cottone’s brave quest to help children and families with cancer prior to her own death from cancer in August 2002. According to Faye Kuntar, event chair, Summer Heat was created as a way to help honor Carly’s legacy while continuing the work she began to help other children and families.
A private VIP party starts at 5 pm to kick off the celebration. Doors open to the public at 6 pm. Guests will enter the "South Beach" lobby of the Statler to the sounds of live music from Caribbean Extravaganza. The grand ballroom will feature unique silent and live auction items and basket raffles. Some of Buffalo’s best restaurants will be showcasing their signature dishes at food stations around the room, including Black and Blue, Fiamma, Lebros, Sole’ and many more. Dessert Deli will feature a wide variety of sweets to entice all in attendance.
Guests can then move into the Terrace Room Lounge, where the party continues with VIP cabanas and loungers surrounding the upper decks. Jeremy Hoyle and Strictly Hip will bring the party into full swing South beach style!
All décor for the event (valued at over $40,000) has been graciously donated by Lounge22 out of New York City and is being shipped to Buffalo especially for the event.
The recommended attire for all guests is South Beach Chic, Tommy Bahama, white on white or just summer fun!
