Two blood products at the same time

A platelet-red cell donation allows for the simultaneous collection of 2, critically important, life-saving blood components (platelets and red blood cells). A platelet-red cell donation can benefit multiple patients at Roswell Park. The platelet portion of the donation will assist cancer patients who have a compromised ability to produce platelets due to their particular cancer or treatment program. The red cell portion of the donation will help cancer patients undergoing surgeries or who have become weak or anemic from their cancer treatment program. A platelet-red cell donation takes approximately 2 hours. You are eligible to make a platelet-red cell donation every 56 days. Please consider a platelet-red cell donation!
