Roswell Park Faculty Member Appointed to National Cancer Institute Advisory Review Group
BUFFALO, NY – James Marshall, PhD, Senior Vice President of the Division of Cancer Prevention and Population Sciences at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI), has been appointed to the Initial Review Group-Subcommitttee A for Cancer Center Reviews by the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
This subcommittee scores applications for Cancer Center Support Grants (Core Grants), the basis for the designation of institutions, such as RPCI, as comprehensive cancer centers by the NCI.
According to NCI, Dr. Marshall was appointed due to his demonstrated leadership in cancer research and research administration, specifically in epidemiology, prevention, nutrition, epidemiological statistics, behavioral medicine, prostate cancer prevention, and clinical trials.
Dr. Marshall is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association for Cancer Education, American Association for Cancer Research, and American Epidemiologic Society. He has authored or co-authored more than 220 journal publications, book chapters and abstracts and is an Associate Editor for several prestigious cancer journals.
