Roswell Park Offers Oncology Update
BUFFALO, NY – Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) will host “Highlights from ASCO 2005,” Saturday, June 18, 7:30 am – noon, in the Hilleboe Auditorium, Research Studies Center, RPCI, Elm & Carlton Streets.
The program will offer primary care physicians, oncologists, urologists, gastroenterologists, gynecologists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners and physician assistants a summary of the latest advances presented at the 2005 annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The program will focus on how these advances will impact the practice of oncology and impact patient care.
Invited speakers are James Doroshow, MD, National Cancer Institute; Ravi Salgia, MD from the University of Chicago Hospitals, and Victor Vogel, MD, MHS, Magee-Women’s Breast Cancer Program of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. RPCI faculty presenters include Marwan Fakih, MD, and Donald Trump, MD, FACP.
"The Roswell Park program will offer area physicians, scientists and other health professionals an opportunity to discuss appropriate uses for newly approved drugs and therapies. These new treatments offer people living with cancer additional options for their care," said Dr. Trump, RPCI and former Secretary-Treasurer of ASCO.
RPCI is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians and has designated this continuing medical education activity for a maximum of four Category 1 credits towards the AMA’s Physician's Recognition Award. The University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmaceutical education. This continuing education activity has been assigned four contact hours.
