National Cancer Institute Awards More Than $4 Million in Grants to Roswell Park Faculty

BUFFALO, NY – The National Cancer Institute has awarded grants totaling $4,044,310 to six members of the Roswell Park Cancer Institute faculty.
- Peter Demant, MD, PhD, Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, a five-year, $1,581,812 grant to study the “Relationship of Colon and Lung Cancer Susceptibility Genes”
- Elizabeth Repasky, PhD, and Bonnie Hylander, PhD, Department of Immunology, a two-year, $160,262 grant to study “Predicting Response of Pancreatic Tumors to Therapy”
- Hans Minderman, PhD, Department of Flow and Imaging Cytometry, a two-year $303,301 grant to examine the “Clinical Application of Multispectral Imaging Flow Cytometry”
- Hyung Lae Kim, Department of Urologic Oncology, a five-year, $714,236 grant to investigate “Heat Shock Protein Vaccine Targeting Carbonic Anhydrase”
- Xiang-Yang Wang, PhD, Department of Cell Stress Biology, a five-year, $1,284,699 grant to study “Scavenger Receptor-A and Immune Regulation”
