Roswell Park Nurses Launch "Hearts for Haiti" Fundraiser
When the nursing staff of RPCI's Head & Neck (H&N) Center heard about the earthquakes in Haiti, they put their heads (and hearts!) together to find a way to help.
For $1, you may purchase a paper heart for display on the RPCI campus. The project begins Monday, February 1 and runs through Friday, February 12 (weekdays only). Hearts may be purchased each day at 7-9am in the front lobby and at 11:30am-1:30pm in front of the cafeteria.
All monies collected will be donated to the American Red Cross for disaster relief efforts in Haiti. Heartfelt thanks to the thoughtful H&N faculty and staff who remind us to keep Haiti in our hearts and thoughts.
“We can't even imagine the devastation and despair that exists in Haiti," said, Karen Shaul, LPN, on behalf of the entire staff of the H&N Center. "We wanted to bring a little relief to those who are suffering.”
Maureen Kelly, RN, Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at RPCI added, “I cannot express how proud I am of the Head and Neck Center nursing staff. They exemplify the meaning of teamwork and giving back to the community."
