Amy Sumbrum joined the staff of Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) in 2006, as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Amy earned her Master of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders and Sciences from the Sate University of New York at Buffalo in 2002.

Amy is licensed by New York State and is certified by of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Amy’s areas of interest include swallowing assessment and rehabilitation after treatment of oral cavity and pharyngeal cancers, and alaryngeal speech restoration after total laryngectomy. She is trained and certified in tracheal-esophageal voice restoration and laryngeal videostroboscopy.

Amy is currently a member of SPOHNC (Support for People with Oral and Head and Neck Cancer) and has started a local chapter of this organization in the Buffalo area.
