Karen Brown joined Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) in 1989 as a Registered Nurse.  When the Blood and Marrow Transplant program was created in 1991, she worked as an RN with the BMT group, as well as the Lymphoma group.  In 1998, she became certified as a Nurse Practitioner and continued to work with both the BMT and Lymphoma groups.  In 2001, she became a permanent NP for the BMT group.

Ms. Brown earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1991, and her Master's of Science degree in Nursing in 1998, both from the State University of New York at Buffalo.  She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and holds licensure as a Registered Nurse, a Family Nurse Practitioner, and an Oncology Nurse Practitioner. 

Ms. Brown is a member of the National and WNY chapters of the Oncology Nurses' Society, and the WNY Nurse Practitioner's Association.  She also is an Adjunct Clinical Associate with Niagara University and Daemen College.  

Ms. Brown has authored book reviews for the Oncology Nursing Society, Oncology Nursing Forum; and has co-authored publications.
