Webcams
Another service of the Community Cancer Resource Center (CCRC) is our webcam loan program. Provided through a donation by The Steadfast Foundation, the webcams provide visual and verbal communication for patients having to stay in the hospital for a long period of time, such as those having a blood or bone marrow transplant. Laptop computers that are compatible with the webcams are available for patients to use, as well.
The Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 has superior video quality and a built-in microphone. The LifeCams work well with popular instant-messaging software, and they’re simple to use.
There are several webcams available to be lent out. One stays in the patient's room, and the patient has the option to loan out an additional webcam to a family member to take home.
To find out more about the program, availability, and how to borrow a webcam, please call 716-845-8659 or stop by the CCRC.
