Yoga & Meditation
Yoga is not aerobic exercise, but it involves using movement, breathing and meditation to help a person find a unity of mind, body and spirit. Yoga can improve overall physical fitness.
Meditation takes a person into a state of calm. It offers emotional and mental balance in order to help someone achieve a clearer more tranquil frame of mind. This effect of meditation is said to stimulate the immune system, reduce stress and with practice may even help to reduce pain.
Mary Dedrick, a yoga instructor from the Himalayan Institute in Buffalo, leads our program every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm. The group meets in the Cafeteria, Conference Room B&C, Sunflower Café, 1st Floor, Hospital.
