General Research Interest
My research activities currently are focused on the following four projects:
- Characterization of the binding avidity of Alzheimers protein (Ab4) and its fragments on TIC;
- Thiophilic interaction chromatography of Lactoferrin and human transferrins;
- Structure and conformational investigations of tandem lesions of DNA;
- Structural studies of HSA complexes with Porphyrin photosensitizers;
- Structure and conformation of Interleukin-15 (IL-15), and
- Structure-activity studies of transplant binding protein, Smp50.
In addition, our accomplishments are in the areas of the conformation of modified nucleic acid components, nucleotides and nucleosides; nucleic acid-drug interactions; role of water in biological systems; structure-activity studies of immunosuppressive agents; structure and conformation of crystalline oligosaccharides; studies on bio-active peptides; studies on carcinogens and compounds of interest in cancer chemotherapy and the use of physico-chemical techniques in understanding protein structures.
