Dr. Michael J. Nemeth joined the faculty at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) in 2008 as an Assistant Member in the Department of Medicine.

Dr. Nemeth earned his doctoral degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology in 2001 from the Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, NH, and completed his fellowship training in the Hematopoietic Section of the National Human Genome Research Institute at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD.

Dr. Nemeth’s research interests include understanding the fundamental problems in stem cell biology; identifying the mechanisms that regulate the development and maintenance of adult stem cells, determining how similar mechanisms operate in cancer stem cells and developing therapeutic strategies that can target the cancer stem cell population.

Dr. Nemeth has authored or co-authored several abstracts and journal papers.
